What does this mean?
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index measures market sentiment on a scale of 0 (maximum fear) to 100 (maximum greed). It aggregates signals from volatility, market momentum/volume, social media, Bitcoin dominance, and Google Trends.
Why care? Warren Buffett famously said "be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." Historically, extreme fear can signal buying opportunities, while extreme greed often precedes corrections. It's not a crystal ball — but it's a useful gut-check on whether the crowd is panicking or partying.
The BTC overlay lets you see how sentiment tracks with price action. Spoiler: they're correlated, but the interesting bits are the divergences — when sentiment and price disagree, something's about to get spicy. 🌶️
